The young, growing party community in Berlin is interesting, even if the older generation always grumbles and reacts arrogantly. But it's the Berlin old-timers who go to the big names, or very young people who have just moved here and only know the big names. Even if many make fun of the young scene in Berlin, these are actually the people who don't care about names and come for a good party: sheep in the meadow – no matter who's playing. In the bunker – just everyone in there! At the basement party, for example, I found it much more innovative and loving; with make-up stands, light installations, and time-consuming decorations. I found that refreshing and new. Of course, I'm too old for it, and it's not always my cup of tea musically, but in contrast to many large events by old Berliners, these are truly idealistic, creative, and simply nice.
So what do we really need?
It could be unconventional, beautiful, and not necessarily minimal. Minimal works really well in a maximal setting. Just as maximalism in a small setting always inspires. Nevertheless, I'm not at all into Berghain. Without innovation, as far as the event's framework is concerned. Anonymous simplicity certainly has its fascination, but as I said, I'm a friend of attention to detail and dedication.
Do you also do something regularly?
Yes, I need a more reliable foothold. Every Wednesday at the VCF, for 9 months now, there's been a familiar, minimal and techno event, where friends first comfortably grill and chill. It just doesn't work with only monthly different events where you always have to put money upfront.
Anything else witty?
Enjoyment is a question, spherically drifting minimalism is the answer!
